Name: Elizabeth

Interests: I enjoy being on adventures. Whether I caused them to happen by my own error or if a group of friends and I decide to journey to find treasure boxes and we get lost along the way! My biggest interests is giving others the opportunity to know Christ personally as I do now (and I am still growing).
Expertise: God gave me the gift of showing love without language. Especially helpful when I am traveling to different countries and the translators are busy! Thanks God, good one!

Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah.

It is a beautiful Sunday Morning here in El Salvador. I am getting close to going back to Florida, the Book of Hope office, in under two weeks! But there is still alot to do. The teams that are coming in the summer have to be set up completely before I leave, because when I come back on the 5th of June...it begins (imagine a 'dun dun dun dun')

Last night Christine and I went and saw SpiderMan 3 in the theater. A funny story is that pirating movies is such a big problem here that when Christine and I were taking pictures in the theater before the movie started the movie police saw us and nearly kicked us out, thinking that we were going to film a 2 and a half hour movie on a tiny camara. Yeah right!  The good thing is that the movie was in English with Spanish subtitles. It made us feel like we were in the states again. And in this theater, they sell caramel popcorn. We were very excited to try it, but the night we can, they don't have the machine on. Rude! Well, not really, it is just popcorn.

I talked with my mother over Skype (liz.mcmahan) hint hint....and she said that my brother got a job! Which is great.  My mom seems kind of lonely, so if you could pray for her, that would be cool. I get to come home for only three days at the end of May, (sorry friends if we don't get to hang out) it is only for three days. I will go shopping for new clothes. Wearing the same 10 shirts for 3 months gets old and ragety and the shirts don't last much longer. And they get all streched out and 3 of them no longer fit me. There is a lady nearby who makes hand puppets and she sowed our clothes to fit us better for only $1/piece!

Pray for this proposal thing to work. It involves going to a bilingual school and partnering with a class to use their students for one week as translators for each of the different summer teams. By the end of the summer every student will have had a chance to work with a team. First time this will be done though. Fast if you find it in you too. Thanks.

I get to see Ashley, Becky, Pat, Randy Witlow, Kyle Lewis, and Leah Fuller this summer. These people are on the teams that are coming out. Rock on!

Big Hug to you friends.

Decisions, decisions, decisions!!! Makin' me ca-raise-e! Well, not really but it was fun to write.

One decision that I made recently was to send the other team, Christine and Autumn to another region, San Miguel. They were going to just do a couple of trainings, preach at a service, and do start up distributions with the churches that they trained. I sent them after much debating in my head. I think, to be honest, it came down to, sending them out this time would mean I would have more time to check the to do list and start finishing things we needed to be finishing. But since they have left, my team's work has come to an all time low, meaning, plans changed and we didn't have very much to do. While Christine and Autumn's vechile broke down an hour away, they had no mattresses to sleep on and no sheets packed in their bags, so they had to find a hotel. They had three trainings in one day and two more tomorrow and speak briefly in a service, all the while Christine had her bag packed in the back of the vechicle where acid started eating away at her bag and her clothes inside the bag. Yes, monday and tuesday, they will still go and distribute books. All is not lost, when they return from San Miguel, we will all be going to the beach!!! No work, and too tired to do anything but relax. Carly and I had a training today, worked on surveys (dont ask), cleaned our room and tomorrow we don't have to preach at a church until 3:30 in the afternoon!!

Other than that, things have been going great, killed two more cochroaches (4 billion left....just kidding for those who are coming here...only 1 billion left!) (just kidding again, we really don't see very many at all.)

Love you Pat, Kim, and Q and anyone else who stills reads my blog, possible Ashley, Steve and....well, there you go.

Oh, wait, you know how you get brief moments where things excite you...like for me, seeing a Tilt a whirl at a carnival and actually having $5 to waste on riding it...well here is another moment...Tonight we recieved a phone call from the guy who will translate for us tomorrow. He wanted to make sure to meet us at 2:30 and I told him that was easy because we live where we were planning to meet and he said, oh at the bible college. And I said yes and at that moment got all excited, then I asked what his name was again and he laughed because I had already forgotten it. It is a tricky name, to my credit, I can't even write it. The part that was the most exciting was that he knew everything that I was saying. He really did speak english and he had a clear voice and he understood my voice without having to pause and figure out what I was saying! so then I knew I would be good for tomorrow!! Go God, good one!! It is the small things in life, really.

Check out my photos and my website   www.lizmcmahan.com

Have no worries about feeling like a stalker my friend, Q. It is a shame that I do not get to update this page all too often.

And, Pat, yes, that is me in those training videos. The one with the long hair. Which just two days ago, I got a hair cut here for just $7. And since I am not fluent in Spanish just yet, it sorts of looks like a haircut that would cost $7. I do have bangs and at least they sell mouse in the stores starting at $3 but most mouse cans cost $8! Aren't you glad you live in America.

Well, I would be if I lived there. Here is good too. In America you can't get a PuPusa with cheese and beans in the middle. Its like a thick tortilla with refried beans and white cheese. My favorite is when the cheese leaks out and gets kind of burnt!

LOVE YOU ALL!!!
